Paul McCarthy former Brighton, Wycombe and Republic of Ireland footballer has passed on .

The player who suffered from cardiac arrest died on Sunday. The information about his death was made known by his ex-club on Monday.

Paul retired 5years ago. He made over 200 appearances for Brighton in a 23 year career.

He had played for Oxford United, Horn church and Ebbsfleet United where he won the FA Trophy in 2008.
