Talented singer, Jidenna, has slammed the poor time management that tainted the recent One Africa fest concert in London.

Tiwa Savage was cut off in order to make time for other performances with Banky W rushing Davido through his set for the same reason. Even Psquare and Flavour almost did not perform. But Jidenna was brutally treated as the venue managers cut the power, signalling an end to the concert that started an hour and a half late.

Jidenna later took to Instagram to express disappointment. “I was supposed to perform 2night but the show was cut off as I waited backstage. I’m disappointed. Regardless of whose to blame, to make this our time we must be on time,” he wrote.

In another interview with Factory78, he said that he didn’t find it funny when people were telling him jokingly that he should understand as it was the good old ‘African Time’ syndrome. According to him, while Nigerians are joking about African time, the world is laughing at us.

“I’m not sure where the ball was dropped but I do know that it’s something with time management. People joke about African time, people make jokes about it but the truth is that everyone is laughing at us. We joke with it, but every other continent is laughing at us.”

He added that he was still expecting an apology from the organisers. “If we make a mistake, we apologise to the person personally so I’m still awaiting that personally,” he said.
