The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Rivers State Command on Tuesday rescued a two-month old baby that was left at a dumpsite in the state.

The little baby who was kept inside a noodle cartoon in the refuse site was found by an official of the NSCDC on patrol enroute the New Elelenwo Manifold in Akpajo, Eleme Local Government Area, LGA, of the state

The officials reported that although the baby on rescue was in a very critical condition  as a result of being left in the rain but after medical attention, the baby is in good health.

The NSCDC in a statement said,“The baby was in a critical condition at the time she was rescued due to the rain and bad weather she had been exposed to.

“She is doing well after officials rushed her to a hospital where she was given prompt and adequate medical attention.
“The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Helen Amakiri, said the baby will be handed over to the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Women Affairs,”
