The Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has made known his plans to start doing exportation of vegetables outside the shores of Nigeria precisely to United States of America.
He said this during his meeting with the executive members of the National Council of Women Societies. He added that it was a very good way of tackling the current economic recession and dollar exchange rate.
Obiano said that the license for the exportation of such produce have been acquired by the freight operator responsible for the conveyance of the agricultural produce to the UK.
“This was achieved through my administration’s deliberate efforts to put the necessary measures in place to ensure accessibility of the products, provision of improved seedlings to the farmers and adequate training for them in collaboration with a European Union Team, on how to plant to meet export standards,” he added.
Chief Gloria Laraba-, the National President of the Council said the reason for the visit was to seek the support and partnership with the state government to help in making key improvement in the lives of the women, girls and children.
