Rapper Olamide Adedeji was recently a mentor in a summer camp to inspire children to take their studies seriously because it will determine the outcome of their future.

The “wo” crooner then went ahead to inform the school children he had to drop out of the university because there was no money to further his education.

Many Nigerians felt Olamide’s narrative could have a negative impact on the young minds who see him as a role model and will feel they can dump formal education and still make it. But Olamide has moved to clear the air on this issue while affirming that he will not encourage any child to abandon school.

“I was lucky to achieve my dreams despite dropping out of school. I left the university because my parents were not able to pay my tuition fees; as such, leaving school wasn’t of my own making. If there was money, I definitely would have remained in school.

You don’t have to drop out of school to fulfill your dreams. However, if due to one reason or the other, you are unable to complete your education, you should also know that you can still succeed regardless.”
