Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle is blaming Onyeka Onwenu for not listening to him when he asked her not to have problem with Chief Tony Okoroji, the Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).

Onyeka has been fined N5 million for defamation of character and mandated to give an unreserved public apology to Okoroji yesterday by a court.

Doyle explains “Some will recall that I publicly cautioned Onyeka Onwenu when she began her ill-advised war of attrition against Chief Tony Okoroji. I told her that she was taking on the wrong guy. She refused to listen. Now, the chickens have come home to roost and she has to pay for her attempt to destroy a good man” he said.

Okoroji stated that. “She left me with little choice. I went to court in self-defence. Till today, I do not know what wrong I did to Onyeka Onwenu,” he added.

We are yet to hear from Onyeka in this matter. Onyeka had claimed Okoroji diverted N3 million donated by the Cross Rivers State Government towards the final burial of  late singer Christy Essien Igbokwe into his pocket.
