The abductors of Pastor Kayode Bajomo of the Redeem Christian Church of God located at Isawo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State have demanded for the ransom of 100million.

The abductors were said to have attended the Sunday service by 7: am as they pretended to be new members of the church

It was gathered that the church was in a state of chaos when the robbers who sighted the pastor brought out their weapons and threatened the pastor to go with them.

A witnessed said that the unidentified gunmen who looked like Ijaw militants arrived the church with their bibles and met the pastor and four other members of the church that morning.

A family friend who spoke under anonymity said the abductors had requested for a ransom of N100m.
 

“Those men have called. They are asking for N100m. That is a big worry. The pastor was cleaning the chairs on Sunday with a few members when the men came in. But God is in control,” she said.

A police source said that it was the custom of the church to station soldiers around the area but unfortunately, the pastor was abducted.

He said, “Police detectives were at the church till around 4pm. Soldiers are usually stationed in the vicinity. So, it was surprising that the pastor was abducted.The church is near a stream. There are about 30 members in the parish.”

Residents of the area lamented that the case of kidnap has been on the increase in the area as they urged the government to help to protect their lives and properties.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, had ordered the transfer of the case to SARS.
