Manchester United star Paul Pogba has netted a new home for £600,000 less than the asking price. The world’s most expensive footballer paid £2.9m for a swanky five-bedroom Cheshire mansion .

His new base is within a 20-minute drive of the club’s training ground – and at £600,000 under the asking price.

The five-bedroom property boasts luxuries including a heated indoor swimming pool, saunas, and his own media room and was on the market for £3.49m. And the £290,000-a-week Frenchman – famous for his ‘dabbing’ goal celebrations – saved himself a fortnight’s wages with the cut-price deal just before the transfer window.

Pogba, who rejoined United from Italian side Juventus in a record £89m transfer last summer, will enjoy luxuries including a heated indoor swimming pool, saunas, and his own media room. The secluded, security-gated property, in one of the north west’s most affluent neighborhoods, is believed to be a former home of ex-United striker Javier Hernandez – now of Bayer Leverkusen and his sister Ana.

Other notable past residents of the village include retired goalkeeper Richard Wright, who last played for United’s rivals Manchester City, and fellow Frenchman Olivier Kapo, once of Wigan Athletic.
