A man (name not yet ascertained) was said to have murdered his lover at a hotel on Prince Adeyemi Street, Ikotun, Lagos.

The Lagos state police in Ikotun division have launched a manhunt on the suspect who had escaped after he committed the act.

The suspect was said to have lodged in a room in the hotel- Taola Hotel – with his girlfriend around 9.30pm on Friday.

The workers of the hotel said they did not collect the details of the man because the man and his girl friend do not intend to stay till the next day. He paid for an hour around 9:30pm and is expected to check out by 10:30pm.

But the workers became disturbed when it was 12am and he has not checked out. The Manager of the hotel identified as Ahmadu went to check the room on getting there, he discovered that the lady was dead but the man was not there.

The case was reported to the Ikotun Police Division while the body of the victim was deposited at the morgue.

According to the hotel attendance, the man left around 10.pm saying that he wants to buy something outside that he would be back. The hotel attendance waited for more than two hours for his arrival that was when it dawned on them that something was fishing.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has begun investigations into the sudden death of a hotel worker, identified as Ifunanya Eke.

Eke was found dead in a room last Tuesday at the Top Suite Hotel and Kitchen on Tunde Odeyemi Street, Ikotun.

The PPRO, Badmos, said policemen from the Ikotun division examined and photographed the scene, adding that there were no violent marks on the corpse.
