Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, has chastised his colleague, Genevieve Nnaji, after she advised fans to rededicate their lives to God. The black beauty had in a post on her Instagram story said ; “Mental health is more spiritual than is physical.

“Rededicate your life to the God you serve.

“Get rebaptized.”

Reacting to her post, Maduagwu warned fans to be careful of listening to everything celebrities say, stating that they are not encyclopedias of knowledge.

“The only thing more spiritual than physical is not being married at 42.

“We need to understand say celebs are not encyclopedia of knowledge.

“I no get wahala with my colleague, sorry with awon ambassadors of rebaptized teaching.

“When dem no fit find husband dem go spiritual, stop misleading youths, mental health has nothing to do with spirituality.

“Na big fallacy to tell people to get rebaptized even Jesus baptized only once.”

Also, Gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has countered Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, following her ‘mental health is spiritual’ statement, saying that there is absolutely nothing spiritual about it.

Genevieve had said; “Mental health is more spiritual than is physical.

“Rededicate your life to the God you serve.

“Get rebaptized.

Reacting to her post, Bisi Alimi in an Instagram post on Sunday said; “Dear lovely Nigerians, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, spiritual about mental health.

“If you or someone you know is experiencing any form of mental health challenges at any stage, please see a professional that is not religious nor judgemental, it is okay not to be okay all the time.

“You are all you got, please take care of you, don’t let any misinformed individuals tell you otherwise.”

Reacting to her statement in a post shared on his Instagram page, Daddy Freeze countered her statement and said having a large number of followers on social media doesn’t make one’s opinion correct.

According to him, it’s her kind of statements that makes people take mad people to churches for prayers, instead of checking them into a psychiatric facility.

He wrote: “I humbly disagree and here are my reasons. After studying psychiatry and spirituality for decades you make this deduction? I say this all the time, because a celebrity has a huge following doesn’t necessarily make them an authority on issues. If she said it was both spiritual and physical I’d agree that that’s her opinion.

“However, to categorically state that it’s more spiritual than physical is the reason why churches are filled with pastors trying to cure madness with speaking in tongues, olive oil and prayers, instead of sending people for proper psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

“God has already sorted out our mental health issues, that’s why we have hospitals”.
