There is no sacred goat in this fight against corruption. President Muhammadu Buhari is trying to make sure that Nigeria is completely purged of corruption according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Osinbajo said that the anti-corruption war would be holistic and thorough to the extent that even the political associates and friends of the President would not be spared.

The Vice President spoke during a special interview session with some journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday. Osinbajo, who reiterated that the President had zero tolerance for corruption, emphasized that he would never cover up for his friends.

He said: “No one would be spared in the fight against corruption because, even the close friends of the President know that they will not be spared, he will not cover for them. Fighting corruption is a priority.”

Meanwhile a Federal  High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, yesterday, remanded a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Chief Benjamin Apugo in prison custody over alleged N36 million fraud.

Apugo was remanded in prison by the court presided over by Justice Osiagor, following a three count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretenses, preferred on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
