The Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has tempered Justice with mercy to indicted teachers who use students as labourers in their personal farms during school hours.

Fayose warned teachers to desist from such unprofessional act. The statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, said any form of act to use the students to work in farm as a decoy for teaching them practical agriculture should be stopped.

He added that every school hour must be maximized appropriately in teaching the students.

It would be recalled that some months back some concerned parents of students at Elo High School, Ayetoro-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state sent messages to the governor to complain about their wards being turned to farm hands by teachers during school hours.

Dr Kolapo Olusola, the Deputy Governor under the governor’s instruction led some groups of people to visit school and probe the issue.
Some teachers were indicted by the report of the committee‎ and some punitive actions were to be taken against them.

Governor Fayose forgave the indicted teachers but warned them never to repeat such actions in the nearest future.
