The non- teaching staff of St Francis Caring Heart Mega School, Owaluwa in Owo Local government area of Ondo state staged a protest on Monday morning over the non-payment of their 13 months salaries.

The irate workers were said to have stormed the school at around 7:30a.m, locked the gate and halted teachers from having access into the school.

The protesters who were about 15 in number held placards with inscriptions such as “Gov Mimiko pay our money, ‘ We are starving,’ We have children too” and several others.

Mr Abu Ayodeji,who spoke on behalf of the protesters said that all their efforts to get paid since the beginning of the year has proved abortive. He added that they won’t give in until the government attends to them.

Reacting to the protest was the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) staff who spoke under anonymity said that the workers are not directly in the payroll of the government but all efforts are being made to ensure that they get paid.

The Commissioner of Education in Ondo State, Mr Adejuyigbe was not available for comments as at the time of report.v
