The 25-year-old, from Georgia, US, had left her daughter Skylar in the car with air conditioning on while she went to her 10am hair appointment.

But the car’s battery reportedly died some time after, switching off the air conditioning and leaving the little girl in the car with increasing temperatures.

The temperature was around 32C in Georgia that day but the inside of the car is expected to have been hotter.

According to the Daily Mail, Fowler spent six hours inside the salon without checking on the baby once.

CCTV footage shows the mum returning to her car at around 4pm and asking a man to help get her car started.

Officers from Dekalb County Police believe Skylar was already dead at this point and that her mother may have hidden her body using some clothes.

A police spokeswoman said that between 4 and 4.54pm, Fowler sent a text to the baby’s godfather telling him she was going to go to an urgent care centre because she had a headache.

She then reportedly drove to Emory University Hospital and called 911 from the car park, telliing them she had passed out from some medical condition.

Yet doctors say the baby’s condition suggested she had died sooner than her mother suggested.

She was charged on Monday after turning herself in.
