Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva and her husband, Olu Jacob have really made it in the movie industry but not without some hurdles.

She said during an interview that although they have both being into acting for a long time but the monetary gain did not just come as easy as they expected.

According to her, they did series of movies that did not yield profit not until 1990’s when they did “Holy Child”

This was the movie that made them break even. In her words, “Although my husband and I produced several stage plays in the 1980s, not until we produced Holy Child in the 1990s did we break even. It was a huge success while the earlier ones were such a struggle. By the time we staged it the third time, it was a commercial success and we made our money back. But then, we should have continued because people were looking forward to it every year.”

The movie which was a christmas story told how Mary and Joseph survived the controversies that might have ensued following Mary’s pregnancy.
Recently she was so amazed and fulfilled when a media personality Lamide Akintobi posted the picture of the couple in the play.
