such a useless man, i wonder what he will teach his followers. he is clearly a misfit for that position and i think he should not be allowed back to the throne. as for his slave, the woman is obviosly acting under duress but i pity her and the parents, they are being used just to get back the bully to his former position and if care is not taken, they will be coming to meet her dead the next time. f*****h people.

Forgiveness
Kolapo Akanmu | 9/5/2010 6:58:39 PM
Forgiveness is the answer. Both the Olori and Bolanle has forget their difference and forgive each other. I advise the state Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to re-instate the monarch so that they can continue with their normal life.

Spouse Abuse is a Felony
Lionking-USA | 9/5/2010 10:36:59 PM
Fellow Nigerians, I don't understand the mind of our society at times. Some people a pleading for the reinstatement of this Monster that you called King. What kind of legacy is he promoting in his kingdom? Spouse Abuse, or Spouse Slavery? This Monster should be locked up behind bars with the criminals. For God Sake, Spouse Abuse is a felony!
People, this is 21st century not the stone age. We all know that Olori is under families' pressure that's why she is pleading for reinstatement. I will pledged to His Excellency. Governor not to rescind his removal decision, example must be set for other people that engaged in such act of abuse. Women are not our slaves, they are our help mate.

The new Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, performed the last traditional rites of mounting the Omolore mound, located in front of the old palace, around 3.30pm on Sunday.

He had his first daughter by his side.

The Akure tradition requires the monarch to climb the mound with the first daughter before he could have the full traditional authority to act as the Deji.

In the event of the monarch's demise, the daughter will act as the regent of the town pending the enthronement of a new king.

Indigenes of the ancient town, in their hundreds, defied early morning downpour and trooped out to catch a glimpse of their new monarch.

Prominent personalities from all walks of life and government functionaries, in various traditional attires, also accompanied the king to perform the rites before he entered the palace around 3.40pm to ascend the throne of his forefathers.

The coronation ceremony, which also coincided with the 60th birthday celebration of the monarch, brought to an end the four weeks of traditional rites that followed his announcement as the new monarch by the state government.

Adebiyi, a trained Agriculturist, is the fifth in the long list of the Adesida's as decendancy to the throne of Akure and he is also the 46th Deji.

The Akure tradition prescribed that a new Deji must, before taking over the throne, pay homage to some senior chiefs, including the Omolare, Asamo, Elemo and Ooye, among others to partake in some rituals of ascension.

Part of the rituals, all of which were observed on Sunday by Adesida despite the downpour, included some moments at the Omolare's where the sacred burial sites of all the past Dejis are located.

He also visited the Alakunre groove, the collection of ceremonial beads at the palace of the Ooye and the climbing of the Okiti Omolore.

The entire town was thrown into celebration mood as guests and residents trooped out to join the celebration

i am indeed over-joyed to learn that every chance of returning this wild beast to that seat has been forclosed. may God bless Akure poeple and the governor. Again, this Animal should imediately be charged to a competent court for grievious bodily harm or even attempted murder. he is a criminal and should be put to where he belongs. Again mr governor and the good people of Akure should not ignore that innocent woman and her kids. pls adequate protection and provision should be made for her walfare otherwise the family of this monster might even starve her and the children to death. LIONKING, i salute you for your comment. As a man, God will continue to bless you for having respect for women and making such a wonderful remark. Nigerian women go through a lot in the name of marriage.May God bless you all.

God Bless His Excellency Governor of Ondo State, the People of Akure and the new King.
I am so happy for the end result of the Spouse Abuse committed by the Ex-King. May justice continue to prevail among our people.
We have to start somewhere to prevent Spouse Abuse among our men and I believe this will served as a lesson for all Spouse Abusers out there that nobody is above law and our women are precious Jewel not Slaves. Its about time for our women to come together and stand up for their rights and Say No To Spouse Abuse.
@ Bisi
Bisi You are welcome, I thank you for your comments God Bless you. I am just telling the truth. There are a lots of Spouse Abuser out there that needs to be taught a lesson. They thinks women are toys, they believe women deserve no respect.

Na wao,we Nigerians ladies shud wake up and be wise.Believe me,dis woman is under pressure cos no person will ever 4giv sum1 who disfigure his beauty like dat.....as 4 dis man,i think till he die,he's nt suppose 2 enjoy goodness of life talkless of going back to the throne.A yoruba proverb says"ile lati nko eso rode"since he can do dis 2 his own wife,i mean d mother of his children, definitely if he has d chance of snatchin sum1's wife,he can go 2 d extend of killing d wife husband. He didn't deserve to rule or live

We can't have a violent king.
Obalola | 10/5/2010 6:43:03 PM
It is very unfortunate that this is happening. He does not deserve the traditional stool and should forget about ever reclaiming it. On the other hand, the former Olori probably now feels ordinary, and befuddled by the thought of her babies father never being able to be called king again and due to the pressure, she decides to lobby for his reinstatement. They might truly have renewed their love for each other but his crime is a public matter which he should pay the price for and should equally be jailed.

It is obvious that the people from ilu-oke as they are porpularly refered to are very very heartless. How on earth would they pressurise this woman to plead for her estranged animalistic husband to be reinstated? IKA! IKA!! IKA!!!!!! ni gbogbo yin ni ilu yin yi o. They are noted for maltreating women and they see women as slaves. KILO DE TI AYE SAN KOKO MO YIN LORI BAYI? Dont kill her for her children o, afterall the so called husband have other wives so why to se fe pa, let him turn to his other wives and concubines now? BOLANLE, SORA E!!!!!!
