Cassandra De Pecol is a 27-year-old traveler from Connecticut who started traveling around the world in July 2015. Her goal is to visit all sovereign countries along her way and so far she has crossed 181 borders.

That means Cassandra has 40 days to visit 15 remaining countries and, if successful, De Pecol will become the first documented female, youngest American, and the fastest traveler EVER to visit all 196 countries around the globe.

If she completes her epic two-year trip, Cassandra will become the first documented female to see every country

Her amazing journey is called Expedition196 and she’s traveling as an ambassador for peace on behalf of the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism

So far the trip would have cost almost $200,000 (around £15,8607), but the whole thing has been covered by sponsors

She has been documenting her journey on social media and uses her Instagram as a platform for advertising in exchange for free accommodation.
