Veteran Nigerian Fuji artiste, Adewale Ayuba, in year 2011, once said on a National TV programme that Nigerian music will be at the bottom until the industry embrace the typical genre of music which Nigeria is known for at international level.

He maintained that most Nigeria music stars imitate foreign music and other international style of singing and code of dressing which contradict the African Culture and value.

Recently, Mr. Johnson as he is fondly called, released a remix video of is hit track ‘Happy People’ featuring rapper, Vector and TM 9ja and questions are being asked on why did he choose the younger generation to work with and the kind of beat he tried infusing in the song?

Ayuba had also stated that the reason why young artistes are not coming into fuji music is because 99% of Nigerians are celebrating Hip hop and R and B musicians, particularly TV and radio stations. Adding that if there were specifications regarding the percentage of content, it would help as most artistes want to be accepted, that’s why they prefer other brands.
