Nigerian Canadian-based Afro- R & B, Soul singer and producer Nonso Amadi has been dealt a heavy blow has his name has been withdrawn from the 2018 Headies award list.

Nonso was nominated in one category of the 2018 list of people to be honored by the organizers of the award but his name has been thrown out of the nomination list in that category.

Smooth Promotions who are the organizers of the Headies Award have made an update to the nominees’ list.

In a statement released on May 2nd, some nominations were withdrawn and changes were made in some categories.

Here is the official statement from Smooth Promotions;

“The Headies secretariat officially write to correct the following nominations which were given in error and are corrected as follows “Virtuous Woman” by Flavour was produced by Cobhams not Mastakraft and Selebobo produced ”Rara”, not Tekno. ”Tonight” by Nonso Amadi was removed from ‘Best RnB Single’ and ‘Best Vocal Performance (Male)’ categories because it was released before the period under review. Mastakraft‘s nomination for Best Producer is “Yawa” and “Augment”, while Cobhams is nominated for “Butterflies” and “Virtuous Woman”.
