The winner of the best indigenous film at the maiden edition of the Africa movie academy awards 2005 with his movie ORI (fate) is a year older today and he cannot hide his gratitude towards his creator for taking him this far when he remembers where he came from.

The graduate of the University of Ibadan has taken to instagram to share the story of his success so far. He said he attended a university after waiting for thirteen year upon the completion of his secondary education.

In his own words “Jan 26th of every year remains a very special day to me and my entire household. Just feeling groovy, nifty and of cause fresh. Happy birthday to me.

A superlative birthday shouts out to me, I’m a definition of grace. I was born into a very humble family; my father never owned a motorcycle let alone a car. My father never bought a television not until after my secondary school. I grew up in one of the slums in Ibadan. No electricity for several years, I had to make use of ‘KUUFIN’ (local lamp) while reading for my SSCE, we had only one lantern which no one dare touch. I had my university education 13 years after my secondary school, yet I’m being celebrated in this manner. What else can I say than to keep appreciating my creator? Thank you father for allowing me witness another beautiful year.

Happy birthday Muyiwa Ademola, wishing you more strength to your work.
