An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court has remanded in prison custody one Oduwole Taiwo  a 48-year-old nurse,  for  allegedly assaulting the workers of a commercial bus owned by the Lagos State Government –LAGBUS.

Taiwo  who was granted bail of the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum, will remain in custody  until every conditions for her bail are met.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Ihiehie Lucky, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 10, 2016, at Ketu bus stop.

He narrated that there was an argument between the duo over the transport fare . The accused  who boarded the bus  from Ikorodu to Ojota aroud 4.15pm was supposed to pay N100 but she gave the driver N5o.

 “As the official was collecting money from other passengers, she got to the accused and she brought out N50 to pay instead of N100.

“The conductor became angry and threatened that she would not be allowed to disembark at her bus stop until she paid her bus fare.

“The driver tried to settle the matter, but to his dismay, the accused left the conductor and held the driver’s trousers while he was driving.The accused also unlawfully held the steering of the bus, causing the driver, Ogbogbo Gabriel, to lose control and in the process, the bus hit a BRT bus,’’ he told the court.

Ihiehie  said the offence contravened sections 166(1), (d) and 171 of The Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The case was adjourned till September 20 , 2016 for hearing.
